Board of Governors (elected and appointed)
Chief governing body of GLMS. Members of the board are elected or appointed as determined by the incoming president (At-Large) and the GLMS bylaws (ex-officio members). Meets five times annually – second Friday, 7:00 a.m. Click here for a list of current Board members.

Editorial Board
Reviews and approves content of monthly magazine, Louisville Medicine. Members are encouraged to write articles and opinion pieces. Meets every other month on the fourth Wednesday, 7 a.m. Contact kathryn.vance@glms.org for more information.

EMS/Diversion Council
Provides a forum to address concerns and seek resolution on hospital, EMS and diversion issues. Members include emergency room doctors and managers, hospital representatives, EMS agencies and the Kentucky Hospital Association. Meets quarterly – fourth Friday, 7 a.m.

KMA Delegation
Develops GLMS resolutions for submission to the KMA. Resolutions approved at the KMA Annual Meeting become part of KMA policy and
its lobbying efforts at the state and federal level. Nominates GLMS
candidates for KMA and AMA offices. Meeting times vary. Group
meets three times during summer months preceding the KMA Annual
Meeting in September.

Nominating Committee
Recruits and recommends candidates for leadership. Meeting times vary, but typically meets two times per year between November and January.

Policy and Advocacy Team
In an effort to have a vigorous positive influence on the state legislative process, this pro-active group educates members on public policy and legislative issues that impact medicine while advocating for policy that advances patient’s safety, patient care and medical practice. The team coordinates efforts with other physician specialty groups and strives to collaborate with legislative decision makers to ensure that legislative and regulatory policies are based on sound, high quality, evidence-based practices. Senior Physicians Committee
Senior physicians meet monthly on the second Thursday, 10:00 a.m. These meetings are open to all physicians. Each month a dynamic speaker is brought in to speak with a Q&A time to follow. To RSVP e-mail Kimberly Risinger at kimberly.risinger@glms.org.
