About

GLMS MISSION

Promote the science, art and profession of medicine;
Protect the integrity of the patient-physician relationship;
Advocate for the health and well-being of the community;
Unite physicians regardless of practice setting to achieve these ends.

The Greater Louisville Medical Society was established in 1892 by physicians in Louisville who sought to unite with their colleagues on a local level. With nearly 4,000 total members, we are a team of advocates for patients and physicians, empowering one another to have a positive impact on the greater Louisville area. The society has several active committees and boards that consist of volunteer physicians who come together to solve health problems and look for new opportunities in the community. The Greater Louisville Medical Society is a representative voice to protect and promote the medical profession and its responsibilities.

Physician members can use the resources of this society as a mechanism for creating positive change in their practices, hospitals and community.
